About Andrew Boardman RGD

Andrew Boardman is a designer, artist, educator and small press publisher based in Montréal, working to build a more humane web — one that’s ethical, inclusive and thoughtfully crafted. He most recently served as creative director at Mangrove Web, a purpose-driven B Corp where he led the creation of accessible, sustainable websites built with open-source tools. For 20 years, he ran Manoverboard, a small but strapping studio and the first Certified B Corporation in Manitoba. He has taught design and theory at the University of Manitoba and Red River College and co-founded a scholarship program supporting BIPOC design students. He writes Dear Designer, a weekly newsletter exploring the emotional, technological and social dimensions of creative work. He also serves on the board of the Canadian Typography Archives and runs a RISO-based press from his Montréal studio.

About Emma Segal RGD

Emma Segal is a designer, researcher and creative leader with 20+ years of experience at the intersection of design, sustainability and organizational transformation. Her work spans consumer product design, manufacturing, experiential education and systems-informed initiatives for international NGOs, government agencies, universities and corporations. Specializing in turning complex sustainability and circular economy challenges into actionable design solutions, Emma's approach combines real-world design experience backed by academic research as a PhD candidate to ensure interventions are both innovative and evidence-based. Her research into sustainable design policies for governments and corporations works towards models that more effectively facilitate transitions to circular products, services and business transformations. Emma also shares insights globally through workshops, guest lectures at academic institutions, conferences and events.
