Abbas Albadri RGD rebuilds Zain Iraq's unlimited social media bundle campaign — in 7 days

Written by Abbas Albadri RGD, Sketch iraq

Zain Iraq, a leading telecom company in the Middle East, relaunched its Unlimited Social Media Bundle after the initial campaign did not connect well with audiences. The new campaign presented the offer in a simple, direct and culturally relatable way, highlighting how unlimited internet fits into everyday life.

The concept was built around real situations—staying connected with friends, searching for information and learning through platforms like YouTube—so the audience could easily see the practical value of the bundle. The aim was to turn a technical telecom offer into a clear and engaging story that reflects how people in Iraq actually use social media in their daily routines.

A structured creative approach

To ensure the relaunch's success, Abbas directed a structured creative process that began with research into Iraqi audiences' social media behaviour, developed a culturally resonant concept built around an Iraqi dialect song reflecting everyday experiences, translated insights into detailed storyboards mapping scenes, camera angles and character movements for a smooth cinematic flow and collaborated with Zain Iraq's marketing team through multiple presentations and feedback sessions until achieving full approval.

120 days, then 7

One of the most interesting aspects of this project was the dramatic transformation it went through. The first version of the campaign took around 120 days, but the final result did not meet the expected creative standard.

Instead of settling, the team requested an additional week from the client and decided to completely rebuild the project from scratch. Within just 7 days, they developed a new concept, restructured the narrative and produced a much stronger and more impactful final version.

“It was a surprising contrast the first version took four months, while the final and most successful version was completed in only one week proving how clarity of direction and creative focus can dramatically accelerate results.”

An integrated production pipeline

On the production side, the project relied on an integrated pipeline combining live-action filming with motion graphics and 3D elements. Tools such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro and Cinema 4D were used to create seamless transitions between real-life scenes and digital interface visuals.
