Lianne Cawley RGD
Lianne is the founder and creative director of Chapter 35, a branding and graphic design studio based in Edmonton, Alberta. Specializing in branding, packaging, illustration, and web, she helps evolving businesses tell their stories through thoughtful, meaningful design. Her approach is rooted in strategy, collaboration and the belief that impactful design isn’t just seen, it’s felt. Drawing from her experiences in entrepreneurship, motherhood, and life’s imperfect moments, Lianne brings authenticity and intention to building brands that feel deeply aligned with the people and stories behind them.
Case Study: Lead with Love - NiGiNan Housing Ventures
In ther case study, Lianne shares the story behind Lead with Love, an apparel campaign created for NiGiNan Housing Ventures, an Indigenous-led organization supporting individuals with complex medical and social needs in Edmonton. She’ll explore how research, storytelling and illustration shaped a values-driven design that raised funds and awareness for the organization and how the project became part of her journey to earning her RGD certification.
Madison Johns RGD
Madison Johns is a Mohawk artist and graphic designer from Six Nations of the Grand River and the Manager of Marketing & Digital Strategy at Indspire. A member of the Turtle Clan, she grew up surrounded by creativity and traditional arts, inspired by her family’s craft shop and her mother’s career in graphic design. She studied Graphic Design at Sheridan College and continues to honour her roots through her creative practice.
Case Study: Indspire - 2024 National Gathering for Indigenous Education
The National Gathering for Indigenous Education is Indspire’s annual conference bringing together hundreds of educators and partners to share knowledge, voices and ideas to improve educational outcomes for K–12 Indigenous students. For the November 2024 gathering in Winnipeg, Madison developed the event’s visual identity and branding, creating a cohesive look and feel that reflected the significance of the gathering and Indigenous education.

Karen leverages her strong hands-on skills, keen attention to detail and organizational expertise to deliver optimal results for clients. Guided by relevance, integrity, and substance, Karen prioritizes the opportunity to amplify diverse perspectives and voices through her work as a communications designer.
Case Study: Tŝilhqot’in National Government Brand Refresh – Building a Brand That Unites a Nation
The Tŝilhqot’in National Government (TNG) sought to evolve its brand into a stronger reflection of its identity, values, and vision for the future. Through close collaboration with TNG leadership, communications staff, cultural advisors, and community members, we developed a refreshed identity rooted in Tŝilhqot’in history, culture, and traditions. The process demonstrates how community-driven design can create a brand that strengthens recognition, fosters pride and provides a unified foundation for communicating a Nation’s voice and vision.
