Kelsea Cotnam RGD

Kelsea graduated from the York University and Sheridan College joint design program, then worked for multiple in-house teams for the past 11 years. Currently the Senior Graphic Designer for the Niagara Region creating a wide range of design projects that promote and enhance the overall image and awareness of the Niagara region and focus on accessible design for all Niagara's residents.

Case Study: The Glendridge Quarry Naturalization Site 

The Glendridge Quarry Naturalization Site is a former quarry turned landfill and finally turned into a park in 2002. The signage inside the park had not been updated since that time and had severely outdated information and graffiti and weather damage. The Public Works Department decided they wanted to revamp the signage ahead of the 2022 summer season. 


 

Arun Rajendran RGD

Arun is a wayfinding designer with a background in architecture and information design. Arun is passionate about amalgamating his interdisciplinary knowledge to solve complex navigational challenges and create legible environments.  His particular areas of interest in wayfinding include inclusive wayfinding, multilingual and cross-cultural communication, and the use of emerging technologies to augment the wayfinding experience. He worked in the UK, UAE, and India before moving to Canada and is currently the wayfinding designer at Fathom Studio, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Case Study: St. Boniface

St. Boniface is a 150+ year-old hospital in Winnipeg. It is the second-largest hospital in Manitoba and the first in Western Canada. Fathom Studio was asked to implement a wayfinding system based on an existing wayfinding strategy and design. 

 

Mostafa Zohdy RGD

Mostafa is a Wayfinding and Graphic Designer with a background in Architecture. His work focuses on spatial and visual design, including placemaking, branding, illustration, and data visualization. He is currently part of the Environmental Graphic Design team at MJMA in Toronto.

Case Study: Carter House in Egypt

Built in 1910, Carter House in Egypt was home to archaeologist Howard Carter during his discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. Now a museum, its transformation required a wayfinding system that is functional, accessible, and contextually and historically sensitive, to enhance the visitor experience while preserving the legacy of one of archaeology’s greatest discoveries.

I am an experienced In-house senior creative designer with over 11 years in various roles. In 2013 I graduated with a Bachelor of Design, with Specialized Honours, from York University in a joint program with Sheridan College. I am continually learning new skills and honing old ones, and I am always looking for opportunities to grow my design repertoire. I have extensive design experience working for Pizza Pizza and Pizza 73, Rubicon and Niagara Region. I believe design should to be light-hearted, original and accessible. I approach life and work with dedication, a sense of humour and fun. I would say I am an adventurous and creative person, love DIY projects and reading.

Fathom Studio

Starting his career as a Junior Architect, Arun Rajendran’s passion for typography and graphic communication led him to pursue a Master in Information Design from the University of Reading, UK. After a spell working in the UK, he landed in Dubai and soon began working on a range of bilingual wayfinding projects in various sectors, ranging from hospitality to mixed-use towers, from residential communities to large-scale urban interventions. Arun is passionate about amalgamating his interdisciplinary knowledge to solve complex navigational challenges and create legible environments. He also enjoys the interplay of graphic elements in spatial settings to create novel experiences. In wayfinding, Arun’s particular areas of interest include inclusive wayfinding, multi-lingual and cross-cultural communication. Outside of work, Arun enjoys travelling, collecting oddities, painting and experimenting with recipes.

Mostafa Zohdy RGD

MJMA

I’m a Graphic Designer with an architectural edge and over 8 years of turning ideas into eye-catching visuals. My skill sets span from crafting dynamic brand identities and digital illustrations to designing sleek wayfinding and experiential projects. The projects I worked on include cultural, heritage, development-related, public, and commercial projects, with local and multilateral organizations within Africa, Europe and North America. To mention some names, Takween ICD, the British Museum, the World Monuments Fund, different UN Organizations, and currently MJMA in Toronto. My passion lies in blending my architectural background with graphic design to elevate civic spaces through innovative visual experiences. Where my architecture degree fuels my understanding of space, texture, and light, my graphic skills add a vibrant flair to projects. This emerges from my belief that creativity thrives where diverse design worlds collide.
