Project: Nation Building Our Way for Tŝilhqot’in National Government (TNG)
“Nation Building Our Way” explores the history and resurgence of the Tŝilhqot’in Nation, highlighting its ancestors, the ʔesggidam, who maintained strong governance and laws before colonization. The book examines the impacts of settler arrival and the Nation’s ongoing efforts to reclaim jurisdiction over their lands, affirmed by the Supreme Court of Canada. It underscores the revitalization of traditional governance, citizen empowerment through education and training and the creation of economic opportunities as key to self-determination and nation building.
