Scanning is another way to look at the world around you, and "Scan Club" is a framework for bringing futures-thinking into daily design practice. Learning to look at the world with a futures lens, pinpointing signals, discovering patterns, and asking "so what?" questions can significantly impact how we problem-solve. Practicing this in a group setting can result in new perspectives, understanding, and insights not possible if practiced alone. What is changing, why does it matter, and then how can we design with these signals in mind?
About Alyssa Yuhas
Alyssa (she/her) is a hopeful designer, futurist and visual storyteller. She specializes in visual strategic design through a systems-, futures- and human-centred perspective. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with exciting, innovative brands engaged in meaningful work, from online creators to Nike to the United Nations (Canada), helping to move them from idea to compelling result. Alyssa is a risk-taker, community builder and believes that innovation is more than what you see, it’s about what you feel.
