Rachel Ladd Student RGD
Rachel Ladd is a fourth-year Interdisciplinary Design student at NSCAD University in Halifax, specializing in environmental design, brand identity, and systems thinking. Guided by a people-focused approach, she designs with accessibility, inclusion, and human behaviour at the forefront.
Her work explores how thoughtful design can foster community, environmental stewardship, and a sense of belonging. Rachel has collaborated with organizations such as the Harriet Irving Botanical Garden, Nova Scotia Health, and the Ecology Action Centre, developing visual systems and campaigns that connect people to meaningful causes. Rachel volunteers with the RGD Student Committee with the goal of connecting more design students in the Maritimes.

I'm an RGD Member because...
“Being a RGD Member provides me with the opportunity to connect with more designers her in Halifax and across the country.”
You should hire me because...
“My approach to design is the same as my approach to teamwork: regardless of my role I ensure everyone on my team feel supported, and thanks to my interdisciplinary approach I can adapt my role to fit the scope of the project.”
The best advice I've ever received is...
“When it comes to design, "ask for forgiveness, not permission." Waiting for permission stifles creativity and encourages fear.”
