Graeme Nishida
I’ve been working in the graphic design field for almost 10 years, I’ve spent the last 8 years working in the advertising industry as a digital production designer where I got to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create big campaigns for B2C brands such as RBC, Honda Canada, Acura Canada and various healthcare brands under Allergan Inc. These campaigns all resulted in sustained brand recognition for both product and service-based offerings that would reach hundreds of thousands of potential customers.
I'm excited to bring designs to life across multiple creative outputs, including website graphics, infographics, email layouts, digital banner ads, various marketing materials and social media posts. My day-to-day responsibilities relied heavily on having a streamlined workflow, being able to multitask efficiently to get a high volume of projects over the finish line and into the consumer market and having a “can-do”, action-oriented mindset; I love getting to dive into my work and seeing tangible progress being made.
Before that, I worked for a small marketing and design agency start-up where I got to liaise directly with small-to-medium business clients from various professions on design projects that build their brand presence from the ground up or enhance it through a wide range of deliverables from marketing materials to brand style guides to informational documents. I was also responsible for creating workback schedules and maintaining good communication with the client regarding project milestones.

I'm an RGD Member because...
“of the sense of community with other professional and emerging designers. Being an RGD Member provides plenty of resources that help me keep up-to-date with the latest news and trends in the design industry, including seminars, awards submissions, conferences and job postings.”
I'm thinking a lot about...
“how to up-skill myself so that I can keep myself relevant in the job market, provide transferable skills and knowledge and add value for my potential employer.”
My favourite RGD memory is..
“The RGD Headstart conference from 2015. It was great to get my portfolio reviewed by industry professionals and gain valuable insight into the design industry. Some of the advice I had been given at that conference still resonates with me to this day and plays a big part in influencing my design decisions.”
