Alexa Harwood-Jones Associate RGD

Alexa Dawn is a graphic designer in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After earning a Diploma in Graphic Design at RRC Polytech in 2019, Alexa has worked in a corporate environment while taking on freelance projects in her spare time. Her clients include local business Retro Roasters Coffee, advocacy group Manitoba Energy Justice Coalition, musical group The Haileys, and the North Okanagan-Shuswap Green Party of Canada riding. Alexa is currently employed as the sole graphic designer for the Asper School of Business. Since starting her role in 2021, Alexa has implemented a cohesive visual identity, designed three international and domestic ad campaigns, and started a Green Office Team to engage her colleagues with sustainability. As a result of this work, she earned a UM Sustainability Award and a Professional Development Award from the faculty in March of 2023. Sustainability and strong client relationships are the foundation of her work. As a Certified Green Graphic Designer, Alexa considers the environmental impact of her work and applies sustainable practices to her projects. When working with clients and colleagues, she encourages respect, clear communication, and collaboration. This allows the designer and the client to be creative, explore ideas, and turn the client’s dream into a reality.

Skills

I'm an RGD Member because...

“I love the community and support that comes with it. I actively participate in RDG professional development opportunities such as conferences, webinars, and mentorship. Connecting with other creatives in the industry has helped me develop skills, gain confidence, and experience solidarity.”

I know a lot about...

“Sustainability! I love working with clients who want to make ethical choices and establish themselves as a climate-conscious brand. As a Certified Green Graphic Designer, I can suggest print and packaging materials that reduce our impact on forests, biodiversity, marine life, and climate change.”
