One Stop Talk: Branding Campaign

Created by the Ontario Government with a consortium of community-based mental health organizations, One Stop Talk (OST) is a free, confidential service that helps kids and youth under 18 connect with a registered therapist online or by phone for immediate mental health support.
Co-Effect worked with OST to bring the service to life. With input from children, youth, families and mental health professionals, the team built a mobile-friendly website and a campaign that made the service feel welcoming and trustworthy. They updated the brand, introduced illustrated characters and created an animated explainer video to better engage younger children while still being relevant for teens and caregivers.

Marketing included bilingual PSAs, social media partnerships and ads in transit shelters, arenas and community hubs, with special attention given to more rural and remote communities that may be underserviced. Community partners also received posters, flyers and digital materials to share in their networks.
OST’s first campaign reached over 10 million people in just four weeks, and later campaigns went beyond 20 million. Feedback showed the new look and messaging made OST feel accessible, engaging and empowering, changing how young people and families across Ontario experience mental health support.
