Sunny, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting social wellbeing, approached *TraceElement to develop a brand identity for its upcoming mobile app designed to help people build more meaningful connections. The goal was to create a visual language that embodied warmth, optimism and approachability, while also providing flexibility for growth across digital and marketing platforms. Through in-depth workshops and exploration, the design team identified two key creative directions: a glowing, smiling sun to symbolize positivity and connection and the Social Sphere™, a system of orbiting, planet-like forms that represent the dynamic and evolving nature of relationships.

This system was refined to balance clarity and emotional resonance while adapting seamlessly to applications from app icons to marketing collateral. The final identity brings these elements together into a cohesive, scalable toolkit. The sun logomark anchors the brand as a friendly and inviting presence, while the Social Sphere™ provides motion, colour and metaphor to express the fluid nature of social wellness. The result is a brand that feels human, uplifting and distinct in a crowded wellness space. Sunny’s leadership praised the identity for capturing both their mission and product vision, positioning the app to resonate deeply with its audience.
