Chip Kidd’s book jacket designs spawned a revolution in the art of American book packaging. The Cheese Monkeys, Chip’s first novel, was a national bestseller, as well as a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. It broke new ground by using the graphic design process as an engine to drive the plot. He is also the designer and co-author with Lisa Birnback of True Prep, an instant New York Times best-seller. In 2007 he was awarded the National Design Award for Communications, one of the industry’s highest honours.
