As designers, we work well with people but we often do not deeply and objectively understand the people we are designing for. What is the best approach to collect data to inform our design work? Design research can uncover actionable insights and help bring shape and form to abstract ideation. It is a movement against opinions and assumption-based reasoning that provides a space for better evidence-based design making.
