Nosy Designers Get Strategy

Amy Janzen RGD, Mercatus Technologies LLC

About this video

Description

In this session, Amy explains how being a nosy parker and meddler has built her in-house credibility throughout her career. Asking probing questions is an established part of getting a good understanding of a creative brief. But taking this a step further can prove your interest in your company or organization's business as a whole. Amy explains how to integrate “nosiness" as an established part of your process so that you can confidently recommend solutions that go far beyond the provided brief. She’ll also share how she reaches out you about projects and client needs, suggest new projects, propose new ideas and gradually get more input into how your department accomplishes its goals.

You’ll leave this session understanding how to:

- leverage curiosity and design to build your credibility as a strategic thinker

- meet stakeholders where they are by understanding business goals and project management

- persuasively suggest new initiatives that solve your pain points and theirs
