This hands-on workshop guides participants through the key steps of creating a wordmark for a brand that relies entirely on typography for recognition. Participants will learn how to customize an existing typeface to create a unique and functional logo. The workshop also covers essential digital techniques to ensure the final wordmark is distinctive, scaleable and adaptable across different applications.

Materials:

  • Each participant must bring a laptop (not a tablet) with Adobe Illustrator installed.
  • Tracing paper, pencils and erasers will be provided.

About the Presenter
Eleni Beveratou is a typeface designer from Athens, Greece. While working toward her MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading, she developed an interest in the science of reading for the partially sighted. Her research and findings were published in Digital Fonts and Reading by World Scientific. At Dalton Maag, Eleni has worked on projects with brands such as Airbnb, Oracle and Facebook.
