Celebrating over 20 years of collaboration with AFIX

AFIX has partnered with the RGD since 2002, providing eco-efficient, modular display systems and on-demand printing solutions that support our yearly awards exhibit across Canada.

Established in France in 1992 and in Canada in 2000, AFIX has developed an on-demand production model that offers customers unlimited format choices and fast turnaround times for any customized display.
“AFIX's approach has always been to empower users to create unlimited shapes by offering the simplest and most eco-efficient poster display,” offers Yann Giraudet, Director at AFIX. “In terms of creativity, the Lego brick system is a model that inspired generations: interconnecting panels or framing posters of any size gives users the same kind of freedom to express their individuality. In terms of environmental vision, Ikea is a model that resonates with designers and consumers around the world. A similar pragmatic and logical approach to designing products with the smallest possible environmental footprint has driven us to create and continually develop the AFIX system.”

“Working with the RGD is fulfilling because we trust that the AFIX system will be used to its full potential by a team of people who fully understand the product's core values. Early in our journey, the AFIX display system was new and unknown to the market. Finding a partner like the RGD back in 2002 was amazing because they immediately realized its potential and embraced the possibilities.”

Two decades of collaboration
Working with the RGD on various awards exhibits since 2002 has been rewarding for AFIX for two key reasons, says Yann:
“First, because we’re confident that the AFIX system is being used to its full creative potential by a team of people who understand not only its capabilities but also its core values. Second, because RGD has introduced AFIX products to a community of innovators who have immediately grasped the concept, engaged with the display system and expanded on its capabilities.”
He adds,
“The RGD's creative team looked at their needs and asked us for modules that even we didn’t think about yet—creating immersive exhibits to exchange, educate and inspire within an emerging community of designers.”
AFIX locally designs and manufactures its displays and also prints in-house, offering clients a fast turnkey solution.

“I’ve worked with AFIX for over 20 years! Their exhibit system is lightweight, easy to set up and incredibly flexible. The RGD has relied on AFIX’s systems and printing services for awards exhibitions across Canada—including cities like Kingston, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver. Yann and his team have always been responsive and collaborative, clearly communicating what’s possible with their system. They’ve been helpful, reliable, proactive and consistently deliver high-quality results.”

New advancements in print
AFIX has recently enhanced its production capabilities by introducing a new large-format media called MXM.
“MXM is a highly durable, tear-resistant, scratch-resistant and water-resistant synthetic paper,” explains Yann. “Its ultra-smooth, matte finish eliminates glare, making it ideal for high-traffic areas or for more demanding travelling exhibitions or repeat trade shows.”
AFIX’s unique tension system requires no plexiglass or backing, relying entirely on the strength of the printed media. The increased density and rigidity of MXM makes displays sturdier than ever before. It can be printed on one or both sides and is now a standard printing option, at no extra cost.
