Winning Project: Redesigning the Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival

The rebranding aims to showcase the rich history and traditions of dragon boat racing (the Dragon Boat Festival holiday) by bridging Chinese and Canadian cultures through a visual style that harmonizes the ornamental and simple visual languages of both. The design is Inspired by the symbolism of Duan Wu Ji (five poisons and five-colour silk threads), the graphics and colours reflect the festival's cultural significance, with a dynamic logo system introduced for each anniversary, symbolizing the event’s history and evolution.
