York University’s 2025 graduating class from the Bachelor of Design (DESN) program invites friends, family, designers and industry leaders to SHIFT, this year’s highly anticipated Grad Exhibition Show. Featuring the work of 49 emerging designers, SHIFT is a celebration of creativity, innovation and the power of design to challenge conventions.

To SHIFT is to disrupt the ordinary, embrace bold ideas and explore new perspectives. This exhibition serves as a dynamic space for self-expression—where randomness, humor and shared uncertainty foster a sense of connection. By embracing the absurd, SHIFT transforms chaos into meaning, encouraging curiosity and creative exploration.

Much like the Shift key on a keyboard, which amplifies text and alters its form, this grad show amplifies voices, ideas and narratives that break free from traditional expectations. The DESN Class of 2025 unapologetically shifts away from conformity, using design as a tool for deeper expression.
