Tre Seals
Based in Washington, D.C., Tré is a Swiss Army knife of sorts. Specializing in brand identity systems, editorial design, web design and type design, he also dabbles in furniture design, jewelry design and copywriting. After graduating in 2015, with a degree in Visual Communication Design, Tré opened his own brand consultancy, Studio Seals. He worked with over 250 partners, ranging from small startups to national and global brands. In 2016, he founded a diversity-driven type foundry, Vocal Type. Inspired by the lack of diversity in the graphic design industry, each typeface he develops highlights a piece of history from a different underrepresented race, ethnicity or gender—from the Women's Suffrage Movement in Argentina to the Civil Rights Movement in America. Since founding of Vocal Type, Tré's fonts have been used for BLM street murals, protest signs, environmental campaigns, corporate initiatives, non-profit brand identities and much more.
