Model/Talent Release
Model/Talent Release
Model/Talent Release
Model/Talent Release forms are a contract between a designer and a contractor (for instance, an actor or model) to protect the designer and their client from possible legal prosecution arising from the use of the subject’s likeness within the creative work produced by the designer. It also releases ownership of their likeness without further compensation for a set period of time. This form includes a model release for a parent or guardian to consent to the use of the image of a minor.
When to use this form
This form would be used in advance of working with the talent to confirm their likeness or creative work can legally be used.
Special considerations
For In-House Designers
This would be used if the in-house department of a company or organization is putting out publications (print or digital) that include non-stock photographs of people and wishes to avoid possible legal trouble that might arise from their use.
