Travis Gobeil RGD

I'm a multidisciplinary creative professional with 20+ years of experience working with individuals, small businesses, startups, governments, and NGOs, and over a decade as a self-employed freelancer. My instincts for branding and marketing go back further than my professional career, and over the years I've had the opportunity to build and manage global brands that are still recognizable today. I've stepped in as an entire marketing and design department for multiple startups, handling everything from logo development to marketing copy, and I'm a capable writer and an organized, communicative project manager. On the design side, I bring a strong eye for visual consistency and detail to every project and I'm known for delivering quality work under tight timelines, equally comfortable working independently or collaborating across teams. I've been designing websites since the 1990s, from basic HTML builds to enterprise-level software for international organizations, and I'm an expert in User Experience Design and accessibility standards including WCAG 2.0. I've used WordPress since 2006 and have taught WordPress design and development at the college level. My illustration work has been recognized in prominent publications and online, I draw in multiple styles and pick up new ones quickly, and I've done professional photography for businesses and real estate clients. I'm bilingual, and across all of this work I communicate effectively with stakeholders at every level.

I know a lot about...

“the bigger picture. I take everything, and no information is too minor to be considered. I like to see everything from a thousand miles up and work my way down to the specifics. You should never lose sight of the larger implications of small decisions.”

I'm thinking a lot about...

“how to best serve my clients. They come to me for expertise and quality execution of all deliverables. I provide expert advice and guidance so they are a partner in the process, not just a participant. It's important to be empathetic and patient in all things.”

I'm an RGD Member because...

“I belong to an organization that establishes and upholds standards that help me show that I am a true professional. By having my RGD certification I am proving that take my work seriously and I deserve to be taken seriously.”
