Role summary

The Production Designer at our sustainability-focused agency plays a vital role in creating visually compelling and impactful designs for sustainability reports and websites. This position involves working closely with clients and team members to understand project requirements, conceptualize design ideas, and produce high-quality digital and print materials that reflect our commitment to sustainability. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, proficiency in design software (primarily InDesign and Illustrator), and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
 

Responsibilities include ensuring that all designs align with the brand's visual identity, are user-friendly, and meet industry standards for accessibility and usability. Additionally, the Production Designer will support the full suite of our agency services, with a primary focus on web and report design. Staying current with design trends and technologies is essential to continually elevate the quality of our deliverables and effectively communicate our sustainability
mission.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Lead Designers and team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Conceptualize and create visually appealing designs for sustainability reports that align with industry standards.
  • Produce high-quality digital and print materials, ensuring consistency with the brand’s visual identity.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and project timelines.
  • Ensure all designs are user-friendly and meet industry standards for accessibility and usability.
  • Support the full suite of agency services, with a primary focus on web and report design.
  • Stay up-to-date with design trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the quality of deliverables.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Experience: A related degree or diploma and a minimum of 4 years work experience in digital, graphic, book layout and UX/UI design. Experience working in an advertising or marketing agency is preferred.
  • Attention to Details: High attention to detail and ability to self-manage and juggle priorities while working autonomously in remote situations insatiable appetite for learning
  • Self-Starter and Team Player: Able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary experts from conceptual strategy through to the execution of creative solution
  • Problem-Solving and Learning: Passionate about solving problems and an insatiable appetite for learning
  • Embrace Feedback: Take direction from team members and clients
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Adobe Suite (InDesign and Illustrator) and WordPress. Experience or knowledge in Squarespace, Shopify, Sketch, CSS and/or HTML is a bonus. Our workflows are in Google Drive, Google Suite, Harvest, Gmail, Slack and Asana. Familiarity or comfort in these types of software is necessary.

Additional details

This is a remote position but R&G’s hours of operation are 9:00 to 5:00 AST or EST, so individuals located in the Eastern or Atlantic time zones would likely do best in this role. To be considered, ensure you have a reliable computer, high-speed wifi, and a distraction-free workspace. Our hiring process includes interviews with our Executive Team, reference checks, the Kolbe Assessment, and a paid trial or project.
