About the role
We’re looking for a graphic designer and visual storyteller to join our creative team, building data-centric campaigns that move the needle for our clients.
For you, design isn’t just a licence for Adobe Creative Suite; it’s a way of thinking and solving problems for your clients. You know the difference between a font and a typeface and can’t help but tell the world. You’re a team player who loves collaborating with other designers, copywriters, art directors, and campaign managers. You have skin as thick as nagahide and constructive feedback is just the fuel you need to push a dataviz even further. You are unflappable under pressure—you know what I’m cooking—and thrive in a demanding production environment where a day without a deadline is a day without sunshine.
Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Work as part of a creative team to design top-tier data visualizations and campaign assets for publication on the Visual Capitalist web site and Voronoi app.
Participate actively in Learning Sessions, Designstorms, and campaign debriefs to keep abreast of best practices, while sharing your unique insights with the team.
Attend briefings, production meetings, and campaign debriefs to share your insights, learn from missteps, and defend your design decisions.
Balance multiple projects and deadlines with a positive attitude and sangfroid, taking briefs from scamp to final execution on time.
Compensation:
The approximate salary range for this position is $50-60K. The actual salary will be based on various factors, including the candidate’s level of skills, experience and education aligned with the needs of the role, budget, and market.

Qualifications
Are You a Fit?
You are a fantastic fit for this role if you can identify with these traits and skills:
Experience: 3-6 years of professional experience in graphic design; specific experience in data visualization, illustration, and animation are definite assets.
Design Voodoo: a strong design aesthetic, knowledge of typography, composition, and colour theory, along with a great eye for detail and knack for problem-solving.
Software proficiency: Adobe Creative Suite (illustrator, photoshop, after effects, etc) and Google Office; experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or RawGraphs and knowledge of Figma, Slack, and Monday.com considered an asset.
Team player: strong track-record of working as part of a creative team, including with writers and campaign managers.
Strategic thinker: you understand that everything you design is part of a whole and in the service of a larger goal and have a portfolio full of solutions on a range of projects.
Excellent presentation and communications skills, including the ability to effectively pitch creative concepts and articulate design decisions to clients is a big plus.
