The programs associated with the Regional Rehabilitation Centre, McMaster University Medical Centre and Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre are also included.

Position Summary
Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation (HHSF) is seeking an innovative Creative Director to spearhead the development of groundbreaking creative strategies that bring our mission to life. As a key member of our Brand Strategy team, reporting to the Vice President of Brand Strategy, you will lead the creative
direction for all of HHSF’s brand, marketing and communications initiatives, pushing boundaries to deliver compelling, modern designs that captivate and inspire. With a focus on innovation and fresh ideas, you’ll create diverse assets for campaigns, events and programs, including graphics, brochures, impact reports, digital content and more—all with the goal of driving awareness and support for HHSF’s vital work.
As part of the management team, you’ll collaborate closely with internal departments, senior leadership, Hamilton Health Sciences and external partners to ensure that HHSF’s creative assets not only resonate with our audiences but also elevate our brand’s impact and visibility. As the champion of HHSF’s brand integrity, you will ensure creative assets are produced with precision, aligning with strategic goals and maintaining a strong, consistent brand presence across all platforms. The Creative Director will oversee the end-to-end process of creative production, from concept to delivery, while maintaining high-quality standards across all platforms and media. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape and strengthen the visual identity of an organization committed to improving healthcare in our community.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education, preferably in art/graphic design, multimedia, web design, digital marketing or relevant field. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Seven (7) years of experience in creative production, producing a broad scope of brand assets across various platforms
- Demonstrated people management and leadership experience within a cross-functional structure.
- Superior content creation and development with innovative design solutions and successful marketing campaigns
- Deep understanding of brand management principles with experience in brand development and brand reputation.
- Demonstrated project management, adapted to shifting priorities and maintained quality with high attention to detail.
- Persuasive communication techniques are used to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and achieve desired results, leveraging both written and oral communication channels effectively.
- Ability to analyze data and results to drive, process improvements, recommendations, strategic decision-making and program enhancements
- Team player with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision and an ability to self-manage effectively in a changing environment with multiple conflicting demands.
- Technical proficiency in publication and graphics software including Adobe Creative Cloud, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop; Microsoft Office Program (365, teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and various video conferencing tools.
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and have the professionalism to interact directly with senior executives across HHSF in support of shared objectives.
- Positively contributing to a supportive and inclusive organizational culture is mandatory.
- Highly effective people leadership skills with demonstrated employee coaching, mentorship and development skills.
- Acts as a role model to staff and others, demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality and sensitivity
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a budget.
- Knowledge of the charitable nonprofit sector or hospital foundation is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with website Content Management Systems (CMS) is considered an asset.
Working Hours, Location and Requirements
- This position operates Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, onsite at Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation head office at 1 King Street West, Hamilton, ON.
- The opportunity to work remotely up to 2 days a week after 3 months of employment is based on approval from the VP.
- Travel is required as the position will regularly visit various locations (i.e. Hamilton Health Science affiliated sites, event locations, corporate partners and donors). The incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license and use a reliable vehicle.
- A current and satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) or Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) is a requirement of employment; the regional police service will determine a suitable police check.
- A cleared status by HHS Employee Health Services is a requirement of employment in accordance with Hamilton Health Sciences policy.
