The Ezras Awards

Sinai Health Foundation

Toronto, ON

The Ezras Awards is an opportunity for Sinai Health Foundation to celebrate their volunteer leaders who have a tremendous impact on Sinai Health. Named after the Ezras Noshem, the women who raised funds to create Mount Sinai Hospital over 100 years ago, the awards ensure the legacy of volunteerism and philanthropy continues. The brand identity is inspired by Sinai’s iconic star, a symbol developed by Stuart Ash in 1973. The star heralds Sinai’s Jewish roots and founding story, but is re-interpreted in a new way.

The custom trophies were shaped to look like the three-part icon in the new identity. Each trophy has a different accent colour which represents a particular award category. Other deliverables included email templates, a website, ads, a lapel pin, event signage and packaging. The awards received positive feedback at the luncheon ceremony. Year 2 of the program saw improvements based on learnings from the inaugural event, and Year 3 is becoming an evening event with more extensive programming.
