Global Disruptions in 4D by Deloitte
“The Global Disruptions report demonstrates strategic design choices to carry the theme throughout the report while maintaining the focus on readability. ‘Disruption’ is a theme which is tricky to convey... How does one show disruption without impeding on the reader’s ability to easily scan, and then deep dive in to content? The subtle hints throughout the document, from the cover image to the choice of fonts and treatment of images, show a thoughtful approach with the end user always in mind. My first impression was that it was a beautiful document I would want to sit and read. My lasting impression is that the designer balanced both objectives and aesthetics with great skill.”

Global Disruptions in 4D is a report from Deloitte’s Future of Canada Centre that examines four intertwined forces: AI advances, the push to net-zero, talent dynamics and geopolitical uncertainty, and how their overlaps shape risk and opportunity. The project aimed to evolve the Catalyst series’ editorial design to match the theme’s urgency while engaging business leaders and provincial and federal ministers and deputies. Guided by research and workshops with copywriters, the team developed a multidimensional concept that made the intersections tangible. Design choices included fog‑inflected imagery, dynamic lines, edge distortions on full‑bleed photos, interrupted headlines and images that broke or wove through frames. The system balanced energy with clarity through a magazine‑style layout, readable hierarchy and consistent application across long‑form chapters and digital assets. The resulting publication fused creative concept and editorial, reaching busy leaders in business and government. It delivered traffic 10% above average, 500+ downloads and coverage in major media, including The Logic, The Globe and Mail and more.
