Jacknife
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
For more than 60 years, American Student Assistance was known as the nation’s first student loan guarantor, but its mission has evolved far beyond financial assistance. Now focused on helping young people explore careers, build real-world skills and make informed decisions about their futures, the organization needed a new brand that could connect with students while maintaining credibility with educators, parents, partners, policymakers and philanthropic audiences. In collaboration with go-to-market partner FUSE Create, Jacknife developed Britebound, a new name and identity built around optimism, possibility and forward momentum. “Brite” speaks to the potential of each student’s future, while “bound” suggests direction and purposeful movement.
At the heart of the identity, the logo combines a pathway and star motif to represent exploration and discovery. The non-linear path reflects the reality that finding a meaningful future rarely happens in a straight line. The flexible system balances youthful energy with institutional credibility across communications, advocacy, partnerships and digital platforms. Extended through comprehensive brand guidelines and a responsive website developed with Executive, the identity helps diverse audiences navigate Britebound’s resources more easily. The transformation positions Britebound as a future-facing leader in career exploration, encouraging young people to “Find your why, find your way.”
