A Strange Land We Call Home — Koryo-saram of Sakhalin Island

Novarc Technologies — Rebrand

Novarc Technologies’ rebrand reflects the company’s evolution as a global leader in AI-driven robotic welding and automation. Created for industrial decision-makers, technical experts, investors and partners, the new identity communicates innovation, precision and a futuristic vision. The logo, inspired by the robotic arm and welding arc, incorporates a nova to symbolize progress and new beginnings while precise ink-trap details highlight technical excellence. A colour palette drawn from the iridescent tones of heat-treated metal captures both industrial strength and transformation, positioning Novarc as a pioneering force shaping the future of automated manufacturing.

A Strange Land We Call Home — Koryo-saram of Sakhalin Island

A Strange Land We Call Home is a deeply personal exhibition honouring the overlooked history of the Koryo-saram — Koreans forcibly relocated to Russia’s Sakhalin Island during WWII. Created for Korean-Canadians, British Columbians and others seeking connection to migration stories and cultural roots, it also engages academics, students and museum visitors. Rooted in the designer’s own family history, the visual identity draws from the Dojang (personal seal) as a symbol of belonging. Muted tones convey hardship while vibrant pinks express hope. Raw photography and blurred imagery capture the feeling of displacement and resilience, reflecting lives lived between two worlds.
