Future of Marine Ecosystems branded scuba diving suit

Partners with Dalhousie University, Future of Marine Ecosystems (FOME) is an innovative lab that explores how marine ecosystems adapt and respond in the face of human impacts such as climate change. FOME’s mission is to help develop the knowledge base to ensure a sustainable ocean over the coming century. They contribute towards developing improved projections of ecosystem and biodiversity change in the ocean, and uses those findings to help the transition towards a more sustainable marine environment.

FOME’s previous identity did not align with their goal of becoming a more public-facing organization. The strategy behind their new logo was to represent the scope of their work which encompasses everything from the oceans’ smallest organisms, to its largest—with coral as a metaphor for marine ecosystems as a whole. Neulis was chosen as the typeface for its combination of bold simplicity and understated playfulness.
