Fathom Office Mural
Element Award — Environmental/Experiential

FATHOM STUDIO
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada

The Fathom Office Mural was conceived to infuse the firm’s new studio with warmth, identity and a visible expression of its interdisciplinary practice. Designed in-house and hand-painted by local artist Anya Kazimierski, the mural embodies Fathom’s values of creativity, collaboration and inclusivity.

Its abstract composition grew from a collaborative process, engaging voices across the studio and consulting Indigenous advisors. Embedded motifs—from black ash and the eight-pointed star to African Adinkra symbols and fragments of an LGBTQ+ community mural—honour the diverse communities central to Fathom’s work. Painterly textures, layered forms and reimagined brand colours ensure the mural feels integrated with the environment, rather than applied.
The result is more than décor: the mural has transformed a simple kitchen into the heart of the studio, sparking conversations, welcoming visitors and becoming a living reflection of Fathom’s values.
