George Brown College Student Experience Plan Conference Identity
George Brown College
Toronto, ON
George Brown College’s Student Success Planning Conference took place in person in August 2023, following several years of being held online. The college’s request was to incorporate GBC’s nine colours, each representing a faculty, into the identity, while also ensuring it stood apart from the college’s main branding. This posed a challenge, as having nine bright colours had the potential to make the identity look childish. To address this, a series of patterns and gradients were used throughout the project. Wayfinding was another element to consider, and to ensure a smooth navigation, a series of detachable arrows were designed to be installed on the day of the event according to the chosen rooms for the workshops. The conference was a success, and the client mentioned that the identity was creative yet appropriate for a corporate school setting.
