2016 Season by 3 Studio Collection open catalogue

Domtar Award for Innovative Use of Paper

Winner: 2016 Season by 3 Studio Collection Catalogue by Herschel Supply Company

Project Description:
The Herschel Supply Studio Collection for Fall 2016 was presented as a two-tier product offering that united water-resistant polycotton tarpaulin materials with premium finishes for a refined aesthetic.

The challenge was to create a studio look book that would elevate this contemporary product offering and produce a multi-purpose publication that could be used as a catalogue/workbook for global distribution partners and a product education tool for the sales team. Tokyo’s thrilling urban landscape was the photographic backdrop for the Fall 2016 Studio look book. As a contrast measure, a minimal graphic design treatment was implemented to balance the city’s exciting chaos and to communicate the clean structure of the Studio Collection. The result was 128-pages of progressive lifestyle images and bold, consistent typography that supports concise product information pages. Over2,000 copies were printed and distributed internationally.

Two (2) open Herschel Supply's Summer 2016 2 Studio Collection catalogue

Mitchell Press Award For BC & Alberta

Winner: 2016 Season by 2 Studio Collection Catalogue by Herschel Supply Company

Project Description:
The past few years has seen an increase in fashion that utilizes technical fabrics in an elevated manner. Herschel Supply’s Summer 2016 Studio Collection catalogue showcases an offering that applies water-resistant polycoat and tarpaulin materials to a selection of clean and concise signature styles.

Typography and design were influenced by the technical approaches used in the Studio Collection’s development. A contrast of smooth tiles and rough concrete were used as a backdrop to showcase each silhouette. This reflected the tactile contrast of the soft mesh and industrial durability of the coated fabrics. By using a minimal colour palette in the images and typography, the individual products could act as the focal points on each spread. The result functions as a catalogue, a workbook for global distributors and an education tool for the sales team. Over 2,000 copies were printed and distributed internationally.
