Design Leader

The Design Leader (the RGD Mentor) will provide creative leadership by:

  1. Define the creative vision for the project by either writing the Brief/collaborating with the Project Based Mentorship Program Committee on the brief
  2. Establish and uphold the creative vision as detailed by the brief
  3. Foster a collaborative work environment where knowledge exchange can happen freely
  4. Provide clear and direct feedback on various stages of the design process such as research, concept creation, refinements, final deliverables, and rationale writing
  5. Ensure consistency and quality across all deliverables

Design Manager (Associate RGD/Student RGD)

The Design Manager will act as a liaison between the Design Leader and the Designer(s), this may either be (1) Associate RGD Member or preferably an upper-year student (graduating in the next calendar year). The Design Leader will decide on who this person is at the first meeting

  1. Ensure the project schedule as detailed in the brief is followed as much as possible
  2. Schedule meetings for the team to meet and discuss feedback
  3. Document minutes and action items at the meetings to share with the team
  4. Provide clear and direct feedback on various stages of the design process such as research, concept creation, refinements, and final deliverables
  5. Participate in the production and concept creation process with the Designer(s).
  6. Compile and lead the final rationale writing process and final deliverables in collaboration with the team and the Project Based Mentorship Program Committee

Designer (Associate RGD/Student RGD)

The Designer will participate in the design process in partnership with the Design Leader and Design Manager

  1. Conduct research, create concepts, and refine concepts for final deliverables on time as detailed by the brief and Design manager
  2. Attend meetings to seek feedback and refine concepts
  3. Apply feedback to design deliverables
  4. Work in collaboration with the Design Manager to create final deliverables and participate in the rationale writing process
