RGD Certification opens new pathway for experience designers

Professionals in UX, product and service design can now advance their careers with a specialized pathway to RGD Certification. You can now highlight your expertise in experience design while demonstrating a commitment to professional and ethical industry standards.

The process of Certification remains consistent, covering:

  • Eligibility & Application
  • Case Study Submission
  • Online Test
  • Portfolio Presentation
  • Results & Next Steps

The application and presentation require three case studies. The goal is to have you submit case studies of your best work and provide an in-depth analysis of your process in your 30-minute presentation. (There are no date requirements for the three case studies, although their relevance to today's market will be assessed in both the eligibility stage (when applications are reviewed) and as part of the presentation evaluation.

“A strong product designer portfolio clearly articulates both the problem and the solution, avoiding jargon and overly technical details to ensure clarity. High-resolution visuals are key, as low-quality images can obscure design details.”
Josh Skinner RGD
“Evaluators focus on clarity in demonstrating the UX process, from research and ideation to testing and final outcomes. We look for evidence of user empathy, accessibility considerations and strategic problem-solving. Applicants should showcase their ability to articulate design decisions, emphasizing the reasoning behind their choices and the impact on the user experience. Authenticity and thoughtful reflection make portfolios stand out.”
