Tell us about LOLO and your areas of expertise.
At The Agency of Love and Logic (colloquially known as LOLO), we help organizations shape brands that balance emotional resonance with strategic clarity. Our work focuses on building brand narratives and experiences that connect with people and create lasting relevance.
We work at the intersection of strategy and design—defining positioning, narrative and voice, then translating those ideas into identity systems, editorial design, digital experiences and physical environments.
Our clients span industries such as hospitality, dining, wellness, culture and lifestyle, ranging from global organizations to independent businesses shaping their local communities. Ultimately, our expertise lies in bridging strategy and design. For us, identity isn’t just visual. It’s something people experience across spaces, communications and moments of interaction.
What distinguishes LOLO?
Our name captures the philosophy behind how we work. Love & Logic reflects the balance we aim to bring to every project. Love represents the intuitive side of design—our sensitivity to culture, human behaviour and the environments people move through. It’s about empathy, and understanding how design is experienced. Logic represents the structure behind that intuition—the strategic thinking, discipline and clarity that guide our decisions. We believe strong design happens when those two forces work together. The work needs both emotional resonance and a clear underlying framework. That balance is what allows our work to feel thoughtful, cohesive and grounded in purpose rather than purely aesthetic.
Why do clients hire you?
Clients come to us because they’re looking for perspective across both strategy and design—not just visual execution. Our process helps them step back and evaluate creative work through a more structured lens, considering how it supports their goals, audience and context. Our role is to help clients navigate creative decisions with clarity and confidence. Rather than reacting purely to personal taste, we help establish the criteria that allow ideas to be evaluated meaningfully. Ultimately, clients hire us not just to make something look good, but to ensure the work communicates clearly and functions effectively in the real world.
Sensei Porcupine Creek
Sensei Porcupine Creek reflects one of our core areas of expertise: hospitality. Our role spanned from early brand thinking through to execution, allowing us to shape a cohesive experience rather than isolated touch points. Materiality played a key role in the project—from specialty printing and tactile finishes to carefully considered sustainable production choices—ensuring the brand was expressed through craft, detail and responsible materials. What made the project particularly special was the level of integration. Instead of treating branding, product and experience as separate deliverables, we designed them as one continuous narrative.
LCBO Holiday Guides
We have collaborated with LCBO on their Holiday Guides for the past three years, which has become an ongoing editorial partnership. Our team supports the project from early planning stages through to final production. This includes concept development, photo shoot planning, art direction and the full design of the publication. The guides balance editorial storytelling with retail functionality. They need to inspire while also helping customers navigate product selections during a busy season.
Surface Dermatology Clinic
This project reflects our belief that meaningful branding isn’t limited by scale. It applies equally to global organizations as to small, independent local businesses. For Surface Dermatology, we developed an identity rooted in the clinic’s philosophy of thoughtful, personalized care, expressed across the space, printed materials and patient touch points. The result shows how a clear narrative and cohesive experience can help a small business feel distinctive within a competitive market.
How is your RGD Team Membership helping your team members grow professionally?
Several of our team are active participants in the RGD community, and we’ve seen firsthand how valuable that network can be. For our designers, it provides opportunities for mentorship, professional development and engagement with the broader design community. It also creates a platform for designers to give back—through mentorship, knowledge sharing and participation in industry conversations.
As studio partners, we also appreciate the sense of connection with other studios. The design industry benefits when knowledge and experiences are shared openly. Being part of that community helps us stay engaged with evolving standards, emerging practices and conversations shaping the future of the profession.
