CBC is the proud broadcaster of the Olympic Games, a global cultural event that unites Canadians. The Winter Games, in particular, hold a powerful place in Canada’s national identity. For the 2026 games in Milano Cortana, the goal was to remind Canada what makes the Olympics so incredible. The team wanted to craft a promo featuring iconic moments from past games while capturing the grandeur and spectacle that make the Olympics unlike any other broadcast event. 

The promo utilizes meticulously sourced and paired footage from previous Olympic Games, matching athlete movement across sports to create a seamless, continuous progression of motion. Each sport was thoughtfully represented, ensuring the promo reflected the full breadth of the Winter Games. Sound design was kept minimal, allowing for the natural intensity of the athletes to take centre stage. The result is a bold, attention-grabbing and immersive promo. By transforming archival Olympic moments into a continuous, kinetic narrative, the promo elevates sport into story.
