From Discovery to Impact: University of Toronto’s Institutional Strategic Research Plan 2024–2029 is a digital publication developed to define the university’s research priorities, meet federal funding requirements and coordinate strategy across a complex academic ecosystem. Informed by consultation with more than 30 leadership tables and partners, the plan reflects a shared vision for advancing interdisciplinary research and global impact. The design transforms a dense, policy-driven document into a clear, engaging and accessible experience. A modular editorial structure, strong typographic hierarchy and bold, original photography support intuitive navigation and readability.
Developed in-house by the Brand Hub, the digital-first format prioritizes usability, accessibility compliance and adaptability, while aligning with the Defy Gravity brand and enabling reuse across presentations and stakeholder communications. The plan has been widely adopted across the institution by partners and praised for its clarity, strategic alignment and effectiveness as a guiding framework for planning, funding coordination and high-level communications.
