Collection Canada 2025

Canada Post

Ottawa, ON

Collection Canada is Canada Post’s stamp yearbook, a publication that blends storytelling, design and philately. The goal is to produce a premium, cohesive book that gives each stamp its own space and personality, while standing apart from Canada Post’s corporate brand. The design uses a shared grid and typographic system, with story-specific visuals drawn from each stamp’s design language. Custom photography, archival images and commissioned illustration were tailored to each story. A standout creative moment is the Blue Rodeo cover. Known for its live performances, the band inspired a cover that reimagines the slipcase as an amplifier and the book as a guitar. The team organized and art directed a custom photoshoot of band leader Jim Cuddy’s actual instruments, expanding the storytelling beyond the imagery and framing of the stamp itself. The 2025 edition confirmed the book’s place as a keepsake and a go-to reference, with contributors and collectors expressing appreciation for the clear, respectful way the stories are presented.

Judge’s Pick

“The conceptual cover and slipcase set the bar high for this book, and the inside does not disappoint. Clean and subdued typography let the strong imagery and illustration throughout the publication shine. The design has nice pacing, spreads have lots of breathing room and French and English text are set side by side in a way that feels balanced and natural. Colour, historic imagery and graphic elements are thoughtfully integrated to create dynamic spreads and clearly differentiate sections. I especially enjoyed the nod to the stamp in the wavy line used to indicate image credits. A beautiful book that any collector would be lucky to have in their collection!”
