EntrepreNorth Brand Refresh and Brand Architecture

Social Good Award Winner

Design de Plume Inc.

Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

EntrepreNorth empowers Indigenous entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses and livelihoods across Northern Canada, grounded in the belief that business knowledge rooted in Indigenous worldviews can support healing, self-determination, economic resilience and community wellbeing. As the organization grew, it needed a refreshed identity that could remain recognizable while supporting an expanding network of programs and initiatives. Design de Plume developed a vibrant, flexible brand system built from elements already connected to EntrepreNorth’s identity. Northern lights remained a central visual anchor, expanded through circular movement, directional forms and wave-like patterns that suggest energy, voices, drumbeats and water ripples.

This approach was informed by EntrepreNorth’s way of thinking about business through a circular lens, where entrepreneurship is a journey shaped by people, place, purpose and responsibility, and that path isn’t a straight line. Brand architecture recommendations and clear guidance for logo use, colour, typography, photography and layout created a cohesive system that could grow without becoming fragmented. The refreshed identity gives EntrepreNorth a clearer, more consistent public presence while making Indigenous entrepreneurship more visible, credible and inspiring. It also positions the organization’s programs and initiatives as connected parts of a larger movement supporting sustainable livelihoods, stronger Northern economies and community well-being.
